Hemp fabric is not just used as a fabric for everyday casual wear, it can also be worked into fine couture pieces in high fashion. In New York City 2008, there was an Earth Pledge fashion show - a runway show of one of a kind designs made entirely of recycled eco-friendly materials including hemp and hemp silk.

Designers like Donatella Versace, Calvin Klein, Donna Karan, Yves Saint Laurent , Stella McCartney and many more all took part in this show, using materials selected to reduce harmful chemicals energy use and to protect land resources for future generations.
